The Coup of 2012

THE COUP OF 2012:
Encroachment upon Basic Freedoms, Militarized Police State in America
Frank Morales
Back in 1992 the Pentagon’s Joint Chiefs of Staff held a "Strategy Essay Competition."
The winner was a National War College student paper entitled, "The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012." Authored by Colonel Charles J. Dunlap, Jr. the paper is a well documented, "darkly imagined excursion into the future." The ostensibly fictional work is written from the perspective of an imprisoned senior military officer about to be executed for opposing the military takeover of America, a coup accomplished through "legal" means. The essay makes the point that the coup was "the outgrowth of trends visible as far back as 1992," including "the massive diversion of military forces to civilian uses," particularly law enforcement.

Go here for the essay:

It's getting closer and closer

Are We in Revolutionary Times?
Legally, President Obama has reiterated the principle that he can pick and choose which U.S. laws he wishes to enforce (see his decision to reverse the order of the Chrysler creditors, his decision not to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, and his administration’s contempt for national-security confidentiality and Senate and House subpoenas to the attorney general). If one individual can decide to exempt nearly a million residents from the law — when he most certainly could not get the law amended or repealed through proper legislative or judicial action — then what can he not do? Obama is turning out to be the most subversive chief executive in terms of eroding U.S. law since Richard Nixon.

Does 'Audacity of Hope' Mean Unchecked Presidential Power?
Faced with a Republican Congress that seems stubborn to a fault and content to see Obama fail, America’s chief executive has decided to grab what some are calling an unprecedented rein on executive prerogative in order to move his political objectives down the field.
His supporters say it’s part of the President’s “audacity of hope” campaign message, exemplified by Friday’s decision to relax immigration rules for young illegal immigrants – a necessary antidote, supporters contend, to political polarization, stalemate, and gridlock in Washington.
As with other Obama decisions to ignore parts of the Defense of Marriage Act, not prosecute medical marijuana, and allow some states to opt out of No Child Left Behind provisions, the immigration order became perhaps the boldest decision yet by a president seeking reelection, critics say, to ignore laws passed by Congress in order to achieve a political objective, setting a troubling precedent for the power of the presidency.

Now that's just gay

“Now, each June since I took office, we have gathered to pay tribute to the generations of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans who devoted their lives to our most basic of ideals–equality not just for some, but for all,” Obama said.

More about drones

WASHINGTON (AP) — After a decade of costly conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan, the American way of war is evolving toward less brawn, more guile.
Drone aircraft spy on and attack terrorists with no pilot in harm's way. Small teams of special operations troops quietly train and advise foreign forces. Viruses sent from computers to foreign networks strike silently, with no American fingerprint.
It's war in the shadows, with the U.S. public largely in the dark.

*

The high-tech warfare allows Obama to target what the administration sees as the greatest threats to U.S. security, without the cost and liabilities of sending a swarm of ground troops to capture territory; some of them almost certainly would come home maimed or dead.

*

In the view of some, the White House has cut Congress out of the loop, even in the realm of overt warfare.
Excerpted from HERE

While the article largely talks about drones being used overseas, it also talks about how this type of warfare was kept under wraps for the most part. I think we can safely assume that drones can and will be used in the US for quite a while before the full scope of those operations are revealed to the American public.
It's past time to change your plans, operations and tactics and adapt to these threats.

Catch & Release?

U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the agency charged with guarding the U.S. borders, has written a secret draft policy that would let its agents catch and release low-priority illegal immigrants rather than bring them in for processing and prosecution.

To Serve and Protect.....

BUFFALO, NY - 2 On Your Side has confirmed that a man Hamburg police found coming out of Dr. Timothy Jorden's home in Lake View Wednesday morning was Buffalo Police officer Martin Motley III.
Motley is seen in the attached photos and video wearing a yellow t-shirt and tan shorts.
When stopped by Hamburg police as he was leaving Dr. Jorden's home, Motley was carrying a personal gun, $5,000 in cash and a Rolex watch.
After being questioned by the Departments internal Affairs division, Motley was suspended today without pay.
Motley has been out on injured-on-duty status for the last three years.
Motley attended Bennett High School in Buffalo with Dr. Jorden, and the two men are said to be good friends.
Dr. Jorden is the "person of interest" in the shooting at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) Wednesday morning that left a woman dead. Jorden is on the loose and is considered armed and dangerous.

223/5.56

A friend of mine asked me for some help the other day concerning cartridges that were hard to extract and showing other pressure problems like flattened primers, even a pierced primer. He was shooting new factory ammo out of an older bolt rifle that he'd just bought. I told him to bring me a bunch of the brass, even the ones that showed no pressure signs. When I got them I knew right away what it was.
"You're shooting 5.56 out of a rifle chambered for 223."
He looked at me like I was stupid. "They're the same, one's just metric because it's a NATO round."
"Who told you that?"
"Everybody knows that" he said, apparently still wondering if I was fucking with him or not.
"Look, the bullet is the same but the cases are slightly different. The case thickness at the neck of a 5.56 is .002" thicker than a 223 and the headspacing as well as the throat on a 223 rifle is different than on a 5.56 rifle. And on top of all that, the 5.56 is loaded to just a little higher pressure that really ain't that big a deal until you figure in the headspacing and shorter throat in the 223. That's what's giving you your pressure problems. That's really only a big deal in older rifles - most of the newer ones accept both, but not the older ones."
He wandered off and I still think he doesn't believe me.
Now, after all that, I have never in my entire life heard of a 223 rifle blowing up or even being damaged by firing 5.56 out of it but as a reloader, if I were to see those signs on my loads, I'd be backing that fucking powder charge down. That shit ain't healthy.

Obama explains new immigration plan, while heckled by reporter in Rose Garden

In a speech this afternoon in the Rose Garden, President Barack Obama explained his administration's decision to allow as many as 800,000 young illegal immigrants to apply for temporary legal status and work permits.
Neil Munroe, a reporter from the Daily Caller, interrupted the president twice, asking him to defend his statement that the move is the "right thing" for the country. Obama talked over the reporter but later in the speech addressed him, again asserting that the immigration decision is the right one. Munroe again interrupted Obama. "I didn't ask for an argument," the president said sharply, ending the unusual exchange.

Stolen from IRISH

No wonder we're so fucking broke

The White House will halt the deportation of as many as 800,000 young illegal immigrants and in some cases give them work permits, in a sweeping new initiative announced by the Department of Homeland Security.
People under 30 who entered the country illegally or overstayed their visas when they were under the age of 16 will be immune from deportation if they have not committed a significant misdemeanor or felony and have graduated from a U.S. high school or joined the military. They can apply for a renewable two-year work permit that won't provide a path to citizenship but will allow them to work legally in the country. Applicants will have to prove they've lived in the country for five consecutive years.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told reporters on Friday that she believed the move "is the right thing to do," and will help the agency focus on deporting criminals. "It is not immunity, it is not amnesty," she said. "It is an exercise of discretion so that these young people are not in the removal system."

And illegals under the age of 30 won't take American's jobs......
They're paving the way for full amnesty, a little at a time, just like gun control and the erosion of the rest of our Rights.

Nothing that a little DDT wouldn't cure

A massive swarm of grasshoppers has invaded a rural town in Sacramento County, eating foliage, hopping around and creating a nuisance.
Folks in Herald, about 30 miles southeast of Sacramento, say their new neighbors moved in at the beginning of June.
They brought their appetites and their friends. Scientists haven't done a head count yet, but locals have a pretty good estimate.
"Umm, 50 million," said 7-year-old Moe Gunter.
And with that many bugs jumping all over the place and eating their own body weight every couple days or so, vegetation is getting worked over.
"The roses on this side are about half-way gone," said Denae Gunter, pointing out plants in front of her home. "The hedges here are slowly going…"
But if residents and farmers in Herald are fed up with them, UC Davis bug experts are kind of excited.
Entomologist Steve Heydon said these types of swarms are rare.
The working theory: This winter was dry and warm, so there's less vegetation around for the bugs to eat. But the winter before saw a lot more precipitation than usual, so with plenty of food there were a lot of extra little bugs born.
People in rural Sacramento County can look forward to seeing their "friends" around for as long as another month.

The same thing happened in Mariposa County just southeast of here a couple years ago. In the settlement of Hornitos they were eating the paint of the buildings.
I was hunting coyotes down there one morning and had to quit shortly after dawn because the hoppers were so thick I couldn't see clearly enough to shoot. Once I got back to the truck I had to strip down to pants only and still ended up with a shitload of the little bastards in the cab. Motherfuckers drove me crazy for a week - I'd be driving down the road doing 60 and all of a sudden a grasshopper would land on my face.

Fuck Obama goes wireless

Service set identifiers, or SSIDs, are essentially the network names that people give to their wireless networks. It turns out many Americans–and people across the world–are turning to SSIDs as a unique way to express their political sentiments. Much in the same way a yard sign pronounces to the world your political proclivities, so too can the naming of your SSID.

Sex in the shower

In a recent survey commissioned by President Obama, African-Americans have proven to be
the most likely to have had sex in the shower. The survey was carried out for Obama by a leading soap and toiletries firm.
The results revealed that 86% of African-Americans said that they have had sex in the shower. The remaining 14% said they haven't been to prison yet.

No words needed

I saw something on the way home from work today that made me do a double take. A pickup truck with an Obama 12 bumper sticker with a row of bullet dings going across it. Real bullets. Halfway across his steel bumper. No shit.
You'd have to hate that motherfucker a lot to pull your bumper, shoot it and then re-install it.
So now I'm wondering if he voted for the Obamessiah last time and is a tad disillusioned or if he hated him right out the gate like a real American?
I'm inclined to believe, judging by his long hair, beard and tattoos like mine, that he's a real American that wanted to make a statement.
And now I'm eyeballing my tailgate going "Hmmmmmm........"

Bill would require a warrant for drone survelliance

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Tuesday introduced the Preserving Freedom from Unwarranted Surveillance Act, which would require the government to get a warrant before using aerial drones to surveil U.S. citizens.
More broadly, Paul's bill is aimed at preventing "unwarranted governmental intrusion" through the use of drones, according to the lawmaker.
"Like other tools used to collect information in law enforcement, in order to use drones a warrant needs to be issued," Paul said Tuesday. "Americans going about their everyday lives should not be treated like criminals or terrorists and have their rights infringed upon by military tactics."
The bill, S. 3287, would require the government to obtain a warrant to use drones with the exception of patroling national borders, when drones are needed to prevent "imminent danger to life" or when there are risks of a terrorist attack.
The bill would also give Americans the ability to sue the government for violating the act. And, it would prohibit evidence collected with warrantless drone surveillance from being used as evidence in court.

CAMEL TOW!!!!!

- Steve saw this HERE and sent it to me with the notation (and I quote): "I thought of you. Sadly."

The Big Bad Wolf (sigh)

I came home tonight and opened my comments to moderate them and caught more shit for my post about The Big Bad Wolf and as usual it was anonymous. Actually there were 2 comments but I'm sure they were from the same person.
I get shitty comments all the time (go see for yourself) but it's nothing in comparison to the emails I get about it. Some of them are demanding that I take it down, some are just more name calling and I've gotten more than a few death threats over it, one last week as a matter of fact, telling me that the same fate awaits me if I don't pull the post. And that was one of the mildest ones. Big fucking deal. I always figured I'd get shot to death anyways.
I want to go off track for a second. There are some seriously disturbed motherfuckers out there in the animal rights(?) movement. If you don't believe me, go to PETA's website (google it) and check out their video page - you can find hundreds of videos of animals being abused and tortured, shit that I myself do not have the stomach to watch, but these motherfuckers bust a nut watching them. They seriously get off on them, judging by the amount they have. And they talk shit about hunters?
Okay. Enough ranting. Back on subject.

Getting back to the death threats and abuse if I don't pull the post, I will respond with this:

Is that "FUCK YOU!!!" loud enough for you?

Gotta be California (again)

I have said in the past and I'll say it again: I have absolutely nothing against gay folks. Fuck whoever you want as long it's between consenting adults and private. It doesn't affect me, I don't care, live and be Free.
But this shit? Keep your fetishes to yourselves, away from me and for damned sure away from anywhere that a youngster may be. I would be offended if I saw a straight couple doing this in public.
Still funny, though.....

And every cop in Indiana just went "Uh-oh"

Police officers in Indiana are upset over a new law allowing residents to use deadly force against public servants, including law enforcement officers, who unlawfully enter their homes. It was signed by Republican Governor Mitch Daniels in March.
The first of its kind in the United States, the law was adopted after the state Supreme Court went too far in one of its rulings last year, according to supporters. The case in question involved a man who assaulted an officer during a domestic violence call. The court ruled that there was “no right to reasonably resist unlawful entry by police officers.”

OH HELL YEAH!!!!!

LEWISVILLE, Texas, June 10 (Reuters) - Parents searching for the perfect place and theme for their kids' birthday parties will soon have another option in Texas: a gun range.

Eagle Gun Range in Lewisville, Texas, is due to open later this summer and birthday parties will be available to children age 8 and older. Party-goers will get a 30-minute class in gun safety and handling and then will have the opportunity to shoot either a BB gun or a .22 long rifle.

"I don't know whether anyone has ever tried this before," said David Prince, who is building the indoor gun range in the Dallas suburb. "I think it is a good way to introduce gun safety to kids in a responsible way in a controlled environment."

Damn, it actually worked!

About 5 years ago I had a weak moment (okay, I was fucked up beyond help that night) and joined the NRA again after about a 20 year lapse in membership.
Well, my membership was close to running out this year and I started getting the deluge of emails and snail mail begging me to renew and send them more of my money.
Fuck that.
Finally getting tired of all their mail and refusal to quit sending me their shit after my repeated requests, I took one of my III Percent business cards (see my sidebar for a picture), wrote the URL of Knuckledraggin, III Percent Patriots and Green Mountain Homesteading across it and sent it back. Nothing else, just those 3 links.
I haven't heard a fucking word from them since.

Race riots could ensue if George Zimmerman -- the shooter in the Trayvon Martin case -- is found not guilty of second-degree murder by a Florida jury, the Congressional Black Caucus' executive director allowed yesterday.
"I think a 'not guilty' verdict is extremely problematic in 2012," said Angela Rye, the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Congressional Black Caucus. She said, "I don't know," when asked what would happen in the event of an acquittal. "I know that folks have talked about race riots -- I don't know that. I think that we live in a day and age where people are educated enough not to do that. I know that his mother and his father have asked for peace, peaceful solutions, not repaying evil for evil, so I'm not sure. I think it would set us back . . . there's no value to racial violence or any other kind of violence."
Rye cited the media handling of the Trayvon Martin shooting as an example of racial bias. "To demonize a victim is always heavily criticized if it's a white woman, if it's a child -- but in this situation, this boy who was not alive anymore to tell his side of the story was quickly demonized, and that's where I take issue," she said.

Hey, I know! Use them to spy on American citizens!

The Homeland Security Department ordered so many drones it can’t keep them all flying and doesn’t have a good plan for how to use them, according to a new audit that the department’s inspector general released Monday.
In a blunt assessment, investigators said Customs and Border Protection's Office of Air and Marine has a fleet of nine “unmanned aircraft systems” and is awaiting a 10th — though it doesn’t have enough ground support and doesn’t have a good plan for prioritizing missions.
“CBP procured unmanned aircraft before implementing adequate plans,” the investigators said.
The Defense Department uses armed drones overseas in the war on terrorism, but American law enforcement agencies are increasingly turning to them for use in detecting or preventing crimes at home. At the same time, they are butting heads with civil libertarians who worry about intrusion into innocent citizens’ private lives.

A good hunter uses all of his kill

Los Angeles County officials are investigating what appeared to be a pair of lungs found on a sidewalk in unincorporated South Los Angeles.
A citizen called to report what she thought were the organs about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 13100 block of Avalon Boulevard, said Sgt. Robert Dean of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies responded and called the coroner's office to the scene. Additional testing will be done to determine if the remains are in fact lungs and whether they are human, Dean said.
"We don't know what they are," Dean said. "It's really weird."
