Ah, the good ol' days.....

Got a new phone today and was cleaning out the pictures from the old one and ran across this from a couple years ago.
Seems like I got that shiner from fucking with the squatters that were attempting to move into the vacant house next door. Damn, that was a good time.

Too little to bite, too big to eat. Whaddya gonna do, man.

For Paul

Dumbass.....

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A college student from Texas believes he is lucky to be alive after a terrible crash. He was texting and driving when his truck flew off of a cliff.
Chance Bothe's truck plunged off of a bridge and into a ravine. One of the last things he typed indicated what almost happened to him.
He wrote, "I need to quit texting, because I could die in a car accident."
After the crash, Chance had a broken neck, a crushed face, a fractured skull, and traumatic brain injuries. Doctors had to bring him back to life three times . Now, 6 months later, he's finally able to talk about what happened.
"They just need to understand, don't do it. Don't do it. It's not worth losing your life," he said. "I went to my grandmother's funeral not long ago, and I kept thinking, it kept jumping into my head, I'm surprised that's not me up in that casket. I came very close to that, to being gone forever."
Chance's father said, if he had a child just learning to drive, he would disable texting and Internet on their phone.
As of August 1st, drivers in Alabama will face a $25 fine the first time they are caught texting behind the wheel.

Stupid motherfucker. Idiots like him are the reason liberals feel like they need to introduce new laws to replace common sense.

What can I say?

The Spirit of Competition and all that.....

Time to fire Jose and crank up your own mower

500 rounds of 5.56 loaded into strippers and bandoliers packed into a canvas shoulder bag along with a half dozen magazines, followers, and a cleaning kit weighs 19.8 pounds. Water weighs in at about 6 pounds (close enough) to a gallon. You can't operate without water and I figure on at least a quart an hour in the heat of the day.
You're going to have to weigh your own weapon and body armor. Assuming you have a fighting vest, figure in the ammo that's preloaded into your magazines.
And that's just stepping off your porch to go pick a fight.......

If you have to scoot, think about your git kit. My summer kit weighs about 25 pounds, my winter gear is about 10 pounds heavier.
Are you up to this? Does your everyday excercise or job give you the strength and stamina to deal with reality when your world suddenly falls to pieces?
If you can't remember the last time you walked more than a mile, you're screwed, plain and simple.
I'm not telling you to go on an extreme excercise regimen, but at least get yourself in good enough shape to outlast any unexpected situations. Walk instead of driving to the corner store. Take the stairs. Do your own yardwork and fire Jose.
Oh yeah. Drop 20 pounds.

Yeah. I never have that problem, man.

A new study offers some helpful hints on navigating our "culture of social isolation in public places," better known as, how to keep people from sitting next to you on the plane, bus or train.
Yale University's Esther Kim spent three years traveling thousands of miles across U.S. bus systems to compile her observations.

Seems like a reasonable trade to me

Of course it would all depend on how jizz stained the pages are.

Fuck 'em, I'm ready

Circa 1870, the North fought the South in the Civil War. Half a century later, around 1920, worker unrest, racial tensions and anti-Communist sentiment caused another nationwide upsurge of violence. Then, 50 years later, the Vietnam War and Civil Rights Movement triggered a third peak in violent political, social and racial conflict. Fifty years after that will be 2020. If history continues to repeat itself, we can expect a violent upheaval in the United States in a few years.

III to III

When I shut this blog down a couple weeks back I did it for several reasons, one of which is my Pop's declining health as I explained to the many, many folks that emailed or called me with concern and support.
It's taking a toll on me mentally, emotionally and slowly but surely, time-wise.

Kerodin did a post on my leaving and in it he mentioned Pop's health problems without going into detail, which you can find HERE.

A few days ago I was contacted by a Community Nurse/Nurse Practitioner and who kindly volunteered her time and services to come from the Bay Area to check him out. Julie and I exchanged several emails and laid out my concerns and to my surprise, she offered to come down this Saturday for an evaluation - no hemhawing around for this Lady. It was so quick that I didn't have time to set it up with Mom, but all that is in the works for a future time.
I know she was volunteering but I had to ask what her charges would be - in my world nobody does anything for free, it's eventually gonna cost you one way or another - and her reply was "This is a freebie. III to a IIIer. We take care of our own."
Man....... I had to read that a couple of times. What an wonderful concept. III to III.
As I'm writing this post there is so much running through my mind that I cannot even think about putting it all down. If you could ever get an inside peek at my mind, you'd understand the problem here.
This offer from Julie and her concept is so amazing and simple that I can't help but post it in the hopes that it will get passed on and others can pick it up. Patriots helping out Patriots in their moment of need for no other reason than that we are Patriots.
Folks, we are a sharing community - this has been proven by the Patriots that came together and met at the PatCons around the country and the fact that I can no longer mention that I need or want anything on my blog without somebody offering to send me what I want.
But there's a big difference between offering a scope mount or any other material thing and offering your professional services as well as travel time - in her case she's looking at about 3 hours back and forth, probably an hour talking with Mom and Pops, then a couple more hours with me and Lisa because there's no way in hell she's getting out of here without a nice supper and a visit. And I guarentee you that if there's anything I can ever do for her and her family, all she has to do is hint.

As a side note, her second email to me was a link to prove her bona fides to me - she was featured in Time magazine for her 2A stance.
You can see her featured HERE.
What's really cool is I remember reading the article and seeing the pictures while sitting at the dentist's office a couple of months ago.

So yes, this Patriot's actions have inspired me to begin posting again. It won't be as heavy as it was in the past, my reasons for quitting haven't gone away, but I'll try to keep it interesting.
Oh yeah - CharlieGoddamit's fine.
